The Drupal Event in Finland 2010 is here!
The biggest and most international DrupalCamp ever in Finland is here. Next week, on 27-28th May, all professionals with knowledge and/or interest in Drupal gather to the Old Student House (Vanha ylioppilastalo) in the very heart of Helsinki.
DrupalCamp Helsinki 2010 highlights:

* Five interesting content tracks for the different audiences
Demola, Forum Nokia and Digia are organising Qt for Mobile Developers training on 26th-28th of May.
This training is for Demola and Protomo team members, companies and teachers.
The training consists of lectures given in the mornings and hands-on Qt coding sessions during the afternoons. Attendees are encouraged to form small teams of 2-4 members and together develop a cool, small Qt application running in a mobile device during the training. Teams may decide to run their application in Symbian or Maemo platform or even in both.

Koneenrakentajat hyödyntävät yhä enemmän avoimen lähdekoodin ohjelmistojen (engl. open source software) mahdollisuuksia. Käytännössä on kuitenkin noussut juridisiin oikeuksiin ja vastuisiin liittyviä kysymyksiä mm. silloin, kun halutaan käyttää avointa lähdekoodia osana suurempaa järjestelmää, esim. ohjausjärjestelmässä. Onkin noussut tarve saada enemmän tietoa ja yhteisiä tulkintoja näihin kysymyksiin, jotta avoin lähdekoodi voisi ottaa uusia harppauksia koneiden järjestelmissä.

Three big names from the world of community movements: Free Software Foundation Europe(FSFE), Creative Commons and Wikimedia, come together under the banner of Free Society at this year’s FSCONS in Gothenburg Sweden.

LTSP5-työpaja kutsuu taas!
Kolmas ja samalla tämän vuoden ensimmäinen työpaja järjestetään toukokuussa – 10.-11.5 – Päivölän kansanopistolla. Tällä kertaa paino on aivan erityisellä tavalla parityöskentelyssä. Pareittain luodaan kahdesta läppäristä ja ristiin kytketystä verkkojohdosta minimaalinen, mutta täysin toimiva LTSP5-ympäristö. Näin jokainen työpajaan osallistuva voi käytännössä kokeilla ja käyttää LTSP5-palvelinta ja -päätettä.
MySQL on tunnetuin avoimen lähdekoodin tietokanta, mutta ei suinkaan ainoa. Toinen suosittu avoin tietokanta on PostgreSQL, jonka kehitys etenee aktiivisesti. PostgreSQL 9.0:sta on julkaistu ensimmäisen beetatestiversio. Se tuo tosiaikaisen tietokannan binääritietojen replikoinnin ja monia muita teknisiä uudistuksia.
