A new innovative citizen portal, which is implemented by Proactum Ltd. and Priorite Ltd., was opened on 13.5.2009. Minister Paula Risikko and CEO of THL Pekka Puska led the opening ceremony.
Pioneer of semantic portal solutions
Recently opened citizen portal named TerveSuomi.fi is an easy-to-use and customer-oriented channel for publishing information on health and improving the health of citizens and it is advanced also in international level. The portal enables its users to obtain exact information on required subjects from trustworthy sources. The solution utilizes semantic features, which enable e.g. intelligent search and dynamic navigation. The ontology of the portal is based on FinnONTO SW 2.0 project carried out by Helsinki University of Technology. The development of the portal continues and the horizon is targeted on expanding the content and developing interactive and communal services enabled by the Web.
Project Manager of TerveSuomi.fi, Eija Hukka, is pleased with the outcome: “Though the implementation schedule was tight, the project was carried out successfully. The project team kept up the positive spirit for the whole time. The portal content is produced decentralizedly in the continuously expanding content producer network. The technology used in the portal enables also serving the content actively to other portals, such as municipal portals. In addition, the ready-made components of TerveSuomi.fi portal will be exploited in the portals of other actors.” By this reuse, other actors save costs and get their work done quicker.
Advanced portal technology
The portal is built on Proactum Enterprise Platform® hybrid platform, which was nominated into the Top 10 in Innovate!Europe competition, Zaragoza, Spain in early May.
